New 370-Pin Motherboards Deliver Affordable Qualtiy

San Jose, CA (January 4, 1999) - SUPERMICRO, a leader in the design and manufacture of quality high-end server and workstation solutions, has recently expanded their product line to the basic PC market. Their newest line of motherboards was designed for use with Intel’s 370-pin Celeron™ processors, which have become a popular choice for low-end applications. The first of these motherboards, the 370SBA and the 370SLM, were released late last year. Since then, the company has extended their line of Celeron boards with two new additions that are based on the Via Apollo Pro Plus chip set: the 370SVA and the 370SVM.

All four motherboards feature a 370-pin socket for a single 333-400 MHz Celeron PPGA (Plastic Pin Grid Array) processor and bus speeds of 66/100 MHz (66 MHz only for the 370SLM). The SUPER 370SBA and 370SLM incorporate Intel's 440BX and 440LX AGP chip sets, respectively. The two ATX motherboards (370SBA/SVA) offer four (4) 32-bit PCI slots, three (3) 16-bit ISA slots (one shared) and one (1) AGP slot. The two microATX boards (370SLM/SVM) offer three (3) PCI slots, one (1) ISA slot (one shared) and one (1) AGP slot. All feature three (3) 168-pin DIMM sockets for up to 768 MB of PC 100 compliant memory (registered and unbuffered).

Offering basic computing capabilities at a cost-effective price, Intel designed the 370-pin socketed Celeron CPU for the basic PC segment of the processor market. Consumers in this category can now enjoy the same high quality and reliability found in SUPERMICRO's high-end motherboards. With the addition of the 370-pin boards, SUPERMICRO now offers a fully comprehensive product line that satisfies the entire range of business and individual needs - from high-end server solutions to the basic PC end-user.

Supermicro is a leading supplier of high-end motherboards and servers. Since its founding in 1993, SUPERMICRO has led the industry in delivering cutting edge technology such as the I20 architecture and the Redundant Cooling Power System.
